New retail offer boosts Coventry Railway Station and TWO FRIARGATE

Coventry Railway Station where a new Sainsbury's Coventry has opened, supporting TWO Friargate offices Coventry

The launch of Black Sheep Coffee and Sainsbury’s at Coventry Railway Station is set to boost the appeal of TWO FRIARGATE’s offices and the entire Friargate development. The station, managed by Avanti West Coast, has now seen the opening of its new Sainsbury’s Local, with Black Sheep soon to follow.

Friargate’s newest neighbours

Proud to be innovators in the coffee industry, this will be Black Sheep Coffee’s very first shop in Coventry. The brand sells coffee and other hot and cold drinks, cakes and savoury food, with stores already trading across the world – including in France and the USA. The new Coventry location will join Black Sheep’s portfolio of UK coffee shops, including London, Leeds, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

The newly opened Sainsbury’s Local store at Coventry Railway Station will focus on ‘top-up shops’ for commuters and local office occupiers, as well as sandwiches and other lunchtime items.

Enhancing the benefits of TWO FRIARGATE

The launch of both Black Sheep Coffee and Sainsbury’s at Coventry Railway Station continues to build on the exciting development of the transport hub – one year on from the launch of its new building. They also contribute to the appeal of the Grade A offices at TWO FRIARGATE. As well as serving thousands of commuters, the new stores will benefit occupiers at Coventry’s most sustainable new office building.

An exciting step for Friargate

Office-based staff, working at and visiting TWO FRIARGATE every day, as well as the established One Friargate, will help the new stores enjoy buoyant custom.

The wider Friargate area is quickly becoming a vibrant, business-focused location, with a range of opportunities for consumers, including the artisan Coffee #1, which resides in the ground floor of One Friargate. In addition to TWO FRIARGATE, work has commenced on Hotel Indigo – a boutique 101-bedroom hotel – with further regeneration planned as part of the Friargate Masterplan.

Further retail opportunities are available at TWO FRIARGATE itself, with the building set to open this Summer.
