Environmental

TWO FRIARGATE’s location adjacent to Coventry Railway Station and new bus interchange makes it one of the Midlands’ most sustainable, transport-centred buildings. Staff and visitors benefit from easy access to all forms of public transport, with cycle storage and showers available within the building and Coventry city centre a short stroll away.

TWO FRIARGATE is designed with efficient energy use in mind. Construction is targeting a BREEAM Excellent accreditation and EPC-A. The workspace is bright and efficient, utilising LED lighting and advanced high-performance floor-to-ceiling glazing to provide natural light.

The building is heated by Heatline, the Coventry District Energy network. This is the first of its kind in the UK, transforming waste into sustainable, low carbon and low-cost heating.

Social

The social component of ESG focuses on relationships – relationships with employees, key stakeholders and the community.

 

TWO FRIARGATE sits at the heart of the city – the first thing visitors see when they arrive at the railway station – and is fast emerging as the focal point for the business community. Two outdoor terraces and multiple balconies allow your team to take in the stunning views over Coventry, with opportunities to hold social events and business meetings with your employees or guests.

The office space itself is mindful of employee wellbeing – driving productivity, and overall happiness, in the workplace. TWO FRIARGATE is committed to achieving a WiredScore Platinum rating and is targeting WELL-Enabled building status, which is based on seven principles: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind.

As part of this, TWO FRIARGATE is targeting an AirScore rating – the global benchmark for indoor air quality, based on leading medical research and best practice. The building uses an air handling system, which circulates air at 12 litres per second.

 

Governance

TWO FRIARGATE is being delivered by Coventry City Council. The Council is committed to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing the environment.

Coventry City Council is also committed to transparent and open sharing of information. Because it is overseen by a democratic institution, TWO FRIARGATE benefits from robust and transparent governance, which is scrutinised regularly and in detail.
